Pflugerloop

This is the first route I ever rode once I ventured to Pflugerville in search of skating paths. It is a fairly mellow trail, no crazy climbs or drops on this one. A relatively short and quick loop, I soon discovered plenty of off shoots that would result in more mileage, which I will get into in other trail reports. This trail cuts through the heart of town running alongside the creek for a good part of it, offering some semi-scenic views and plenty of nice spots to take a breather if you're into that kind of thing. This route is a composite of a handful of trails in the Pflugerville system, the Heritage Loop trail, Gilliland Creek trail, and Brookhollow trail. Now as for the trail itself, this is one of the first trails built in the city and the concrete shows it, there is lots of pitting from age and you can definitely feel it grabbing onto your wheels. A little resistance never hurt while training and it shouldn't shy you away from this trail. The trail varies in width but it is always wide enough for solid skating. There are 4 underpasses at Dessau Rd/Pecan Street and 2 underneath N. Railroad Ave. The trail goes through parks so depending on the time and day there could be lots of foot traffic.
